FIA’s approach to this project involves combining the national appeal of football with commitment to environmental sustainability. The Green Community Project will integrate football tournaments with environmental sustainability campaigns, focusing on waste reduction and management, renewable energy, climate change and tree planting. This initiative will engage the community, raising awareness and inspiring positive action.

1. Two major green projects to
be organized in 2024.
2. Each tournament will take a
total of three days.
3. The tournament will be a
cocktail of various activities
including Football for change
workshops and clinic.
4. The tournament is mainly
focused on children between the
ages of 12 years to 16 years. 

PROMO CAMPAIGN

1. Massive digital campaign on plastic disposal.
2. Celebrity driven campaigns.
3. Community talks to promote the campaign during all GCFFC tournaments.
4. Taking the children through basic climate change and waste management lessons during tournaments. 

Activity Road Map

Football Impact Africa Green Community

An intensive media campaign – across radio, television, print, online and social media – will run all-year round to raise awareness on anti-doping and the importance of sanitizing the sport from all sorts of cheating practices. Educational facts and historical information on doping, the dangers and effects of doping as well as measures to curb it, and a call to action from stakeholders will all run in the form of videos, artworks and articles. 

DAY 1

The Football workshop will take place on the first day. The workshop will offer financial literacy sessions, investment advice to patrons, especially footballers.

DAY 2

Commence the football tournament. The tournament will run concurrently with health screening. There will be a dedicated stand to ensure smooth screening. 

DAY 3

The final session of the tournament will take place. It will be preceded with a tree planting activity. Before the final game, patrons will be taken through a waste management education and a demonstration of proper way of disposing plastic bottle.
